As Craftable is keeping a running theoretical count on your Batches, it's necessary to tell the system each time you add to the batch. Doing this depletes from the ingredients that go into the batch, and adds to the In Stock count on the batch.
If you haven't yet created your Batch please see the article titled Creating Prep Items and Batches to walk through building a batch. But once you have a batch on the platform you can add to it quite easily. Watch the video below for a walkthrough, or see the step-by-step instructions below:
- Navigate to Inventory > Prep Items & Batches
- Locate your batch in the list and click the plus sign at the far right
- Tell the system how much of the batch you made.
If the batch is counted by Serving you will need to enter in how many Servings you just made. If you are unsure of the serving count on the recipe use the blue header at the top of the popup to guide you. If the batch is counted by either weight or volume you will be able to choose to add to the batch by either weight or volume, or by the Serving. Use the "Batch Qty (CU)" field to confirm how much you're creating. This means how many of the count unit of the batch you've just made. - Click Save to add to your batch.
Out of Stock Error
When you add to a batch you instantly deplete all the ingredients in the batch from your inventory. This could result in negative depletions if you are out of stock of some of the ingredients. (In a perfect world this wouldn't happen, but if you haven't yet entered some invoices or your inventory numbers are wrong, it could happen.) If this happens, you'll see a red error on the Add to Batch window, like below:
If this is correct you can override this error by scrolling to the bottom and clicking "Confirm", but the system is warning you that doing this will result in negative depletions on the items mentioned.
*Note*: With Batches Depleting as Transfers you will want to ensure that you Toggle the Permission "Allow Negative Transfers" on in order to deplete the Batch Items into the Negative.
To find this Permission you will first need to click "Your Name" in the top right hand corner > Store Settings > Store info > Scroll down to find the "Allow Negative Transfers" Permission.
Override Yield
The Override Yield toggle lets you tell the system that in this instance you yielded a different amount than normal. So while the recipe you used might have normally yielded one amount, in this instance you still used all those same ingredients, but the total yield was different.
For example - say we used all the same ingredients as if we were making 4 quarts of a recipe, but for whatever reason in this instance it only yielded 3.5 quarts, you could toggle on Override Yield, and then enter the Actual Prep Yield. The system will still deplete the ingredients for the 4 quarts, but only 3.5 quarts will be added to your In Stock amount. (This can happen with recipes where you reduce it, or mix/whip it in a fashion that air is added, like ice cream.)
